TUNE IN EVERY MONDAY NIGHT LIVE! Awesome first show as we kicked off the new season Monday night...always great to see Jim Mich and Joe C! Looks like another fun time and exciting stuff on the Monday Morning QB! Please note the new day and time for our replays...TUESDAY night at 8:30pm on Channel 98. That gives us a great viewing area so everyone can check us out! Also, don't forget you can watch us online at Justin.tv/pctv28 if you can't catch us on the tube! Well, I look forward to hearing from you all and give me a call and let's talk football! Turn us on and enjoy all the football action! Spring-Ford Rams....PAC10 CHAMPS! Congratulations to Chad Brubaker and the Spring-Ford Rams as they won the outright 2011 PAC10 championship on Wednesday night by beating arch-rival Phoenixville 27-21. The Rams came from behind in the 2nd half, and soph Jarred Jones scored the game winner from 31 yards out to seal the deal for SF. The Rams finished 9-0/10-2 for the '11 season, and deserve much credit for putting together a great season in Chad Brubaker's 2nd year at the helm! Two other local teams finished their seasons on positive notes...The Pottstown Trojans and Boyertown Bears had very enjoyable turkey dinners as they won their annual clashes. The Trojans enjoyed a great morning filled with a huge crowd on hand...celebrated the 1961 undefeated team...and also recognized longtime equipment manager Bob Hartman and his family for over 60 years of dedicated service! Truely a beautiful morning capped off with a convincing 49-6 victory over the visting OJ Roberts Wildcats. Seniors Malik Brinkley and Corey Baker led the way for the Trojans by gaining over 300 yards and scoring seven TDs on the day. RB Max Marcus capped off his outstanding senior season by rushing for nearly 200 and scored two TDs to set a school record for 20 TDs in a single season, as Boyertown handled Upper Perk 42-21. Congratulations to both squads! So much fun on the annual Christmas Special for the Monday Morning QB...Santa himself made an appearance, and was joined by two lovely elves; Julia Pauline, Miss Pennsylvania International, and Stephanie Frazier Miss Perkiomen Valley International. Boy, did they both add charm and grace to the show. The Perk Valley High School choral group was outstanding under the direction of Mr. Tracey Griffey, and really helped us get into the holiday spirit. And of course the usual suspects Donner Seeley, Dasher Geiger, and Joe C. joined "Rudolph" in making the show another memorable one. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! Former Phoenixville High School and Washington Redskin star, Neal Olkewicz was a guest on the show Monday night. He brought lots of fun and great stories about his Redskin teammates. He also provided insight and opinion on the NFL, both during his playing time, and the current game. Look for more from Neal, and check out the feature on him located on the bottom of my Home Page. ![]() Dave and Neal Olkewicz FINAL 2011 TOP 5: Monday Morning QB Top 5: 2011 1.) Pottsgrove 11-3 2.) I represented the Tri-County Area Chapter, which was a great honor for me. ![]() Dave and Vince Papale My good buddies Vince Papale and Blair Thomas were inducted which made the evening that much more enjoyable for me. I have had the pleasure of knowing the two of them for quite a few years now, and had the both of them on my MMQB show. It was great getting to reminisce and laugh over a couple of beers. ![]() Former Princeton Basketball Coach Pete Carril I also got to meet Pete Carril, legendary football coach Mike Pettine, and Bo Ryan during the evening. It was a great time had by all. Locally, Ray Feick, got inducted for his mastery of the Master's track curcuit. Congratulations Dr. Ray! ![]() 2011 Hall of Fame Inductees Firebird's 40 Year Reunion ![]() Jack Dolbin, Mark Kosmos & Herbie Nauss The Pottstown Firebirds gave the Pottstown area football fans so much to cheer about back in the late 1960's-1970, that the locals decided to pay them back with a Championship Reunion/Anniversary party in early December. Thanks to the efforts of John Katch, Cathy Paretti, and Herbie Nauss, Firebird fans and ex-players got the chance to "walk down memory lane" at a luncheon/reunion party. Many players and fans got the chance to chat and tell old stories that really warmed the hearts and souls of everyone involved. The players told funny stories, and had great memories of their time here in Pottstown. Fans brought in memorabilia of all kinds, everything from game programs to football spikes. A great time was had by all! ![]() Mark Kosmos & Dave Stay tuned to the MMQB and don't forget LIVE on Monday nights at 6:30pm on Channel 28 the Monday Morning QB will break down and discuss all the local action. ![]() Don't forget to check out the schedules, stats, scores, and our player of the week in our area on our website as well!
